Hello! I’m Isobel, a lover of plants.
Since a child I have had a strong connection to plants and the natural world, often feeling more at home in a woodland or meadow than anywhere else.
This connection grew into a curiosity and I have spent my entire life so far learning about and working with plants to understand them deeply. I was fortunate to grow up in the East Sussex countryside, picking berries with my Mum and playing in rivers with my brothers. I was taught the names of wildflowers and how to make hedgerow jam.
This is where my relationship with plants began. I went on to work as an organic gardener, first in a beautiful historic garden and later as a market gardener, working with the soil to grow vegetables and flowers.
Foraging and herbalism have been continuous practices throughout my life. I live very much by the seasons and am guided by what is growing and thriving around me. I also worked in a herbal apothecary, learning from professional Medical Herbalists and deepening my understanding of the healing power of plants.
Art and beauty are equally important to me. I truly believe that we all need beauty in our lives. It is where creativity, wonder, and joy reside. Plants inspire much of my creative work, be that through natural dyes, pressing flowers or incorporating plants into my cooking.
What I find most powerful about plants is not only their ability to heal and inspire us as individuals, but also their ability to bring people together. That is exactly my hope for Flower Folk - to create a space where people can gather, learn about, and celebrate the beauty of plants, while building meaningful connections and community
I believe that when we reconnect with nature and with one another, we create positive change in the world.

My hope is that Flower Folk brings you the same sense of purpose, connection, inspiration, joy, and love that plants have brought to my own life.
With love,
Isobel x o
